Dr. Jessica Cohen

Dr. Jessica Cohen graduated from Texas A&M University in 2009 with a degree in veterinary medicine.  Following graduation she completed an intensive 1 year internship at The 6666 Ranch in Guthrie Texas, then was in mixed animal private practice for about 2 years.  Dr. Cohen then went on to pursue a residency in Theriogenology at Oklahoma State University, which she completed in 2014.  Dr. Cohen is eligible for Diplomat status with the American College of Theriogenologists and is excited to be able to offer her services to the DFW area.

“I’ve always wanted to work with animals. I was that little girl who at five years old if you asked me what I wanted to be, I wanted to be a veterinarian, and my answer never changed when I was growing up. I started out from a really young age just crazy about all kinds of animals, and I would collect all the information I could get on animals. I still have these books at home, stacks of books just telling you about all the different kind of animals in the world. I would always catch animals and bring them home, like animals you’re not supposed to have in pets. They became my pets. It as an adventure for my parents, I guess.

I loved working at Legacy Vet Hospital. I love working with the people here. I think that everybody genuinely is very caring and honest and genuinely dedicated to doing the best that they can and getting the animals the best care that they can. I think that we all are passionate about the animal industry and hopefully that shows in the services that we offer and the work that we do here.”

The biggest thing that I’m proud of with Legacy Veterinary Hospital is the fact that everything that we do makes the animal’s lives better and as a result of that, it helps the people that own these animals, specifically their kids. I really like to know that everything we do, from the littlest thing like a nail trim or a haircut to saving their life or an emergency, we’re helping that animal. Then in turn, it helps the people that own those animals and helps their family.”
